This powdered kava is made from the fine roots grown in Fiji. These are the lateral roots only, also known as Waka by the locals. The lateral roots are generally known to contain a higher amount of kavalactones. Very high quality from Fiji, where the roots are grown for over four years, compared to the noble roots grown in Vanuatu. After the kava plant has grown to its proper maturity level, the roots can weigh up to 50kg when dried. Its definitely the result of much tender love and caring by the master growers of Fiji, who view this plant as sacred.
